May is National Elder Law Month

The National Academy of Elder Law Attorney (NAELA) of which Mr Crews is a member, has designated May as National Elder Law Month.

A crucial Issue of concern for elderly adults is Adult Guardianship.  This is a legal proceeding conducted when an adult can no longer make or communicate safe or sound decisions about their person or assets.

This situation makes them susceptible to fraud or undue influence, leaving them vulnerable to scam artists or identity thieves.  Guardianship provides protection and care for adults with dementia, mental illness, Alzheimer’s or other mental impairments.

This process can occur through the court system or with preplanning, Guardianship can be identified in a Power of Attorney, thereby avoiding a costly and disconcerting court process.
